Battery materials are playing an increasingly vital role in meeting the global demand for efficient and sustainable energy storage. As technologies such as electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, and portable electronics continue to expand, the need for advanced and reliable battery components has never been greater.

Battery materials can generally be divided into three key families: cathodes, anodes, and electrolytes. Each responsible for enabling the movement of charge carriers such as electrons and ions.

At Almath, we specialise in the development and supply of high-purity oxide materials designed for use in advanced energy storage applications. 
Our oxide materials are engineered to meet the requirements of various battery systems, including sodium-ion, lithium-ion, and metal–air batteries.

To ensure optimal quality and consistency, our battery materials are produced using well-established synthesis methods such as solid-state reactions, sol-gel processing, and co-precipitation techniques. By delivering reliable, high-performance materials, Almath supports the continued advancement of cleaner, safer, and more efficient energy solutions worldwide.

As a member of BEPA (Batteries European Partnership Association), Almath plays an active role in advancing the development of next-generation battery technologies. We participate in both UK-based and Horizon Europe battery research projects, contributing our expertise to initiatives aimed at creating safer, more efficient, and longer-lasting energy storage solutions.

Our primary focus is on the development of solid-state oxide materials to enhance the safety, stability, and performance of emerging battery chemistries.

Through collaboration, technical excellence, and a focus on next-generation technologies, we aim to accelerate the transition toward cleaner, higher-performance energy storage for a sustainable future.

Available Materials

Hochreines Mg-stabilisiertes β''-Aluminiumoxid-Pulver mit einer rhomboedrischen Struktur. Dieses Material zeigt eine gute Na+-Leitfähigkeit, was es zu einer geeigneten Option für die Verwendung als Festkörperelektrolyt in Natrium-Ionen-Batterien macht. Die Bulk-Leitfähigkeit erreicht 1 mS/cm bei Raumtemperatur, gemessen an einer vollständig verdichteten Tablette (10 mm Durchmesser, 1 mm Dicke).

High-purity NASICON powder with a monoclinic structure. This material conducts sodium ions and is suitable for use as a solid-state electrolyte in sodium-ion batteries. Conductivity of 0.5 mS/cm at room temperature, measured on a fully densified tablet (10 mm diameter, 1 mm thickness).

Composition: Na3Zr2Si2PO12

High-purity NCM precursor available in hydroxide form, with Ni:Co:Mn compositions of 9:0.5:0.5 and 8:1:1. This material is suitable for use as a cathode material in Li-ion batteries.

Hochreines, einphasiges BSCF-Pulver mit einer kubischen Perowskit-Struktur. Dieses Material weist eine gemischte ionisch-elektronische Leitfähigkeit auf, was es zu einer ausgezeichneten Wahl für fortschrittliche Energieanwendungen wie z.B.:

- Kathoden für Festoxid-Brennstoffzellen (SOFC)

- Membranen für die Sauerstoffdurchlässigkeit

- Katalysatoren für Sauerstoffreduktionsreaktionen (ORR)

Wir bieten auch eine breite Palette von Oxidionen (O²-) leitenden Keramikpulvern an, darunter:

- LSF (La₁₋ₓSrₓFeO₃)

- LBF (La₁₋ₓBaₓFeO₃)

- LSC (La₁₋ₓSrₓCoO₃)

- LSCF (La₁₋ₓSrₓCo₁₋yFeyO₃)

Almath is able to develop most materials to the required specifications. We are able to tailor porosity and composition and in the last year have developed several pressable grades of Ca stabilised zirconia and zirconia silicate.
