PBN (Pyrolytic Boron Nitride) belongs to the hexagonal crystal system, which is an anisotropic, high temperature advanced ceramic with purity up to 99.999%.
PBN is produced through a CVD process at high temperatures and under high vacuum, utilizing ammonia and boron halides as source materials. This method can be employed to fabricate PBN plates or directly manufacture PBN crucibles, boats, and coatings.
Compared to standard BN crucibles, PBN offers superior purity and density, along with enhanced resistance to acids, alkalis, oxidation, and improved thermal conductivity.
At room temperature, PBN remains unreactive with acids, alkalis, salts, and organic reagents. It exhibits minimal corrosion in molten salt and alkali solutions, while demonstrating resistance to various acids at elevated temperatures. It remains unreactive with most molten metals, semiconductors, and compounds, displaying excellent anti-oxidation properties below 1000℃.
PBN showcases remarkable thermal shock resistance, exhibiting no cracks when subjected to water at 2000℃. With a high service temperature and no sublimation point, it decomposes directly into boron and nitrogen above 3000℃. Furthermore, it has a high electrical insulation performance and features a smooth surface without pores, remaining non-wetting with most semiconductor melts.
We can supply at very competitive prices. PBN crucibles are not stocked items, delivery is usually 14 to 30 days. We have a minimum order number of 4 items of any single size.
